Project Brasileirinho receives support from Villares Metals

The Drug Prevention Social Program is developed annually with 860 children from 1st and 2nd grades at Maria Rosa and André de Nadai Schools, in Sumaré, known as “O Brasileirinho”. Developed by the Federal Police, the Program consists in the distribution of brochures providing advice on the dangers and damages caused by drugs.

Project Amiguinhos da Villa

Consists in indoor soccer (“futsal”) classes for 70 children up to 14 years old. The classes take place in the gym built inside the company’s club for this purpose. Besides providing the infrastructure, the company sponsors food, uniforms, sports materials and participation in championships. This is a continuous project, ongoing since 2005.

By applying part of its investments in environmental and sustainability issues, Villares Metals aims to ensure a perfect environmental performance of its activities.

Project Dance and Citizenship

Aims to promote culture through classical dance (ballet) and help in the development of the 25 children participating in the project, 2nd and 3rd-graders of the Maria Nina Municipal School in Sumaré. The classes occur at the school premises, and the students had the chance to make a presentation at a Ballet Festival together with dance school “Companhia da Dança”.

This project was sponsored by Villares Metals within the Cultural Action Program (PROAC), which consists of investing the equivalent to 3% of the ICMS paid by the company in cultural programs duly approved and accredited by the São Paulo State Secretary of Culture.

Project Animated Generation (2009)

Cultural project sponsored by Villares Metals through incentives provided by the Rouanet Act, which consists of investing up to 4% of the Income Tax due by the Company in the year in cultural projects duly approved and accredited by the Ministry of Culture.

This project consisted of teaching production of 2-minute animated videos for children and teenagers, in a language accessible to children, exploiting social and environmental issues in Brazil and in the world, presenting solutions. The videos were produced at three Social Assistance Reference Centers of Sumaré (CRASS).

In addition, the project encompasses workshops for training of Portuguese and Literature teachers from public schools so they are able to give classes on the works donated.

Project Our Literature (2009)

Cultural project sponsored by Villares Metals through incentives provided by the Rouanet Act, which consists of investing up to 4% of the Income Tax due by the Company in the year in cultural projects duly approved and accredited by the Ministry of Culture.

Esse projeto consiste na edição de nove títulos da literatura clássica, incluindo autores brasileiros e portugueses, com tiragem de 9.000 exemplares para doação para bibliotecas e escolas públicas. Além das escolas e bibliotecas de Sumaré, parte dos livros serão entregues para patrulheiros, aprendizes do SENAI e estagiários da Villares Metals.

Além disso, o projeto prevê a realização de oficinas para capacitação dos professores de português e literatura da rede pública para que possam ministrar aulas sobre as obras doadas.

Project Let’s Take Care of Our World (2009)

Cultural project sponsored by Villares Metals through incentives provided by the Rouanet Act, which consists of investing up to 4% of the Income Tax due by the Company in the year in cultural projects duly approved and accredited by the Ministry of Culture.

The Project consists of promoting values of environmental conservation and preservation of natural resources through scenic arts, focusing on issues such as global warming, water care and tips on everyday sustainable actions.

Theater lessons are weekly, for about 30 students over 13 years old and will occur until the end of the year, when the students will present the play prepared during the course.
