V & M do BRASIL (VMB) – a company within French group Vallourec – is one of the world’s most modern integrated steel mills, producing seamless steel pipes with diameters between 1” and 14”. With a plant located in the Barreiro region, in Belo Horizonte, the company occupies an area of 2.5 million m2 and has an installed capacity of 550,000 t/y of steel pipes.

The company’s production structure is integrated and verticalized, with two subsidiaries responsible for supplying vegetable coal and iron ore, two of the main inputs for steelmaking. V & M MINERAÇÃO and V & M FLORESTAL ensure the integration of the supply chain with strategic advantages for the company in terms of raw materials.

The company currently works in various sectors both in domestic and international markets. It supplies for the oil and energy industries, as well as for mechanic, automotive and civil construction industries.

Oil & Gas

V & M do BRASIL produces seamless steel pipes for oil exploitation and well lining as per specifications API 5CT, special pipes and with proprietary grades with higher resistance to high temperature and pressure for exploitation in critical environments: High Collapse, Sour Service,13Cr, Super 13Cr and Premium threads, the latter using VAM® technology, the world leader for special connections. It also produces conduction pipes, as per API 5L, in grades up to X 80.

In addition, the company has service facilities in strategic locations along the Brazilian coast, increasing proximity to the client and offering an integrated solution in the supply of pipes and threads Premium VAM®.

VPP (Vallourec Pre-salt project)

Group Vallourec undertakes the goal of meeting demands in new frontiers in exploitation and production in the Pre-Salt field, offering innovative solutions with high technical performance, having created, within V & M do BRASIL’s structure, the Vallourec Pre-Salt Project.

The project comprises an international team with more than highly qualified 30 people, reporting directly to the Group’s global executives, and receives full technical support from the R&D Centers in Europe and in the US. Its main missions are:

• Supply the Oil & Gas segment with development and innovations meeting exploitation and production conditions in ultra-deep waters and high-corrosion environments.
• Propose the most advanced and reliable technical solutions for exploitation in Pre-Salt areas.
• Maximize local contents.
• Manage the whole supply chain of imported items, if necessary.

Energy & Industry

Industrial pipes are produced to meet the demands of the most complex and sophisticated production processes. Thus, they have special features suiting the most varied applications, always with the guarantee and quality standards of V & M do BRASIL. They include Mechanical Pipes, Fluid Conduction and Storage Pipes, Thermogeneration Pipes, Semi-finished Pipes and pipes for Oil Pipelines, among others.

Automotive Pipes

Seamless automotive pipes grant improved safety, resistance and durability to light and heavy vehicles, agricultural and industrial machines, motorcycles and railway cars. They are used in the production of rolling bearers, suspension parts, injection and power steering systems, as well as of impact and stabilizer bars.

Structural Pipes

Structural pipes of square, circular and rectangular shape enable bold and innovative architectural solutions. They may be used in gyms, multi-purpose arenas, walkovers, warehouses, roofing for wide spans, railway cars, among other specific applications. When adopted, they allow cost reduction, due to increased rigidity of structural models, adding aesthetic benefits and granting improved durability to the structures.
