A modern, bold and innovative company: this is Siderúrgica Norte Brasil S.A – SINOBRAS, located in Marabá, in the southwest of Pará state, which started production of steel in May, 2008. Aimed to the civil construction sector, SINOBRAS entered the steel sector launching its first final product, steel rod SI 50, sold in all states of Brazil.

Integrated to Grupo Aço Cearense, SINOBRAS has undertaken the challenge of processing in Pará the iron ore extracted in the city of Parauapebas (PA), thus generating jobs and taxes, contributing to changing the reality of the region. With state-of-the-art technology, SINOBRAS made an initial investment of US$ 350 million for its implementation, and already ranks among the Country’s largest steelmakers.

SINOBRAS is an effective member of the Board of Administration of the Brazil Steel Institute together with other large companies within the sector. It is also a partner of the International Labor Organization – ILO and member of the ICC – Citizen Coal Institute, which aims to orienting, assisting and inspecting all activities related to the production chain of vegetable coal.
