ArcelorMittal Inox Brasil is the only integrated manufacturer of electric and stainless flat steel products in Latin America. The absolute leader in the domestic market, with more than 70% of market share in the segment, the Company exports to around 50 countries. Besides electric and stainless steels, the Company also produces special carbon steels. The ArcelorMittal Inox Brasil steel mill is located in the city of Timóteo (MG), in the region known as the Steel Valley, due to its strong steelmaking vocation.

With an installed capacity of 900,000 t/y of liquid steel*, the mill is located by the margins of BR-381, a highway which is the main transportation link between the state of São Paulo and the Brazilian Northeast. It lies close to the Vitória-Minas railway, which connects Minas Gerais to the port complex in the state of Espírito Santo.

Such location facilitates the transportation of products to destinations throughout Brazil and to international destinations, as well as the plant’s supply.

Since April, 2008, Arcelor Mittal Inox Brasil has been operating as a closed capital company.

Founded in 1944, ArcelorMittal Inox Brasil has invested, since its privatization in 1992, approximately US$ 1 billion in the modernization of the mill. Through constant investments, a philosophy of work oriented towards continuous improvement as well as towards the search for innovation in client servicing, Acesita ranks today among the sector’s most important players in the world.

The company has today three production lines:

Stainless Steel – with applications in civil construction, transportation, white goods, health, food, capital goods, tableware and cutlery, among others.

Electric steel – applied in transformers, reprocessors, reactors, electric engines, sealed compressors and energy generators. It comprises two lines, Oriented Grain (GO) and Non-Oriented Grain (GNO).

Special Carbon Steel – used in the following industries: machines, implements, agricultural tools, re-rolling, cutlery and tubes. ArcelorMittal Inox Brasil also has, in its corporate structure, sales offices in Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Colombia. Besides, it operates a network of 10 controlled companies, comprising service centers, distribution and tubing production units.

The Service Centers aim to centralize the management of transformation and distribution, generation further benefits and acting as facilitators for the clients, with services of transversal and longitudinal cutting of sheets, surface finishing and distribution of stainless steels in bars and welded pipes and tubes.
