ArcelorMittal, established in 2006 following the merger of Mittal Steel and Arcelor, is the world’s largest steelmaker, with nearly 300,000 employees in 61 countries and an output of 103.3 Mt of steel in 2008, approximately 10% of the world’s total output. In the same year, the company’s sales revenues reached US$ 124.9 billion.

With its diversified profile, the company is active in the fields of flat, long and stainless steel products, and is the leader in the world’s main markets, including automotive, construction, household appliances and packagings. It also holds a distinguished position in R&D. ArcelorMittal has substantial own sources of raw materials – it produces 45% of all ore consumed at its units – and a wide, well-equipped globalized distribution network.

Based in Luxembourg and with offices in London, Rotterdam, Paris and Madrid, ArcelorMittal shares are traded in stock markets in Amsterdam, Brussels, Luxembourg, New York and Paris, as well as in Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid and Valencia.

ArcelorMittal is the controller of ArcelorMittal Brasil, the company comprising the assets belonging to ArcelorMittal Aços Longos, ArcelorMittal Tubarão and ArcelorMittal Vega, and it is also the controlling shareholder of ArcelorMittal Inox Brasil.
