
Aiming visitors, especially from the academic environment, we have prepared some initiatives to generate better integration in the steel-metallurgic sector, such as:
ExpoSteel Visitors:
- 03 visits to the CSN steel mill in Volta Redonda (RJ), detailing the steelmaking process. The institute will provide air transportation to and from Rio de Janeiro, ground transportation Rio – Volta Redonda – Rio, meals and lodging.
University Students:
- 03 free registrations for the Brazilian Steel Conference – 21st edition. University students visiting ExpoSteel on April 15, until 8:30am may participate. Check the Conference´s schedule.
Professors:
- Professors or course coordinators taking the largest number of university students to visit ExpoSteel may win at the end of the event:
1st place: 1 Dell netbook, 01 visit to the CSN steel mill (including air and ground transportation, meals and lodging) and a package of IABr publications for 1 (one) year;
2nd placer: 01 visit to the CSN steel mill (including air and ground transportation, meals and lodging) and a package of IABr publications for 1 (one) year;
3rd place: Package of IABr publications for 1 (one) year.
For this purpose, students must inform the name of the professor and the university in the registration form at the website, when answering the question “How did you know about the event?” The effective number of students attending the event will be accounted for the final results.
Rules for ExpoSteel 2010 Promotion
ExpoSteel Visitors:
1. Registrants in the “Visitor” category at ExpoSteel will be eligible to participate in the draw, whether registered at the website or at the venue, who effectively receive their ID badges from the Secretary of the event.
2. The draw will take place on the 1st working day after the end of ExpoSteel at the IABr offices, and the winners will be notified within five working days.
3. Should the contact information provided by the winners be inaccurate and/or IABr is not able to contact same within three working days as from the draw, the Brazil Steel Institute will carry out a new draw for other visitors meeting the criteria established in item 1.
4. Reservations for air (São Paulo – Rio de Janeiro – São Paulo) and ground transportation (Rio de Janeiro – Volta Redonda – Rio de Janeiro) and for lodging (Rio de Janeiro) will be held by agency appointed by IABr. Food expenses will be limited to R$ 50,00/day for dinner, to be reimbursed upon submission of receipt. IABr will provide no reimbursement for alcoholic beverages. The lunch will take place during visitation at the CSN mill in Volta Redonda.
5. The visit to the mill will occur on a date to be informed by the IABr, with the presence of a professional employed by CSN with the group throughout the visitation.
6. Should a winner of the draw be unable to participate of the visit on the appointed date, he/she must provide the IABr with a minimum 72-hour notice. In such event, a new draw will be held in the conditions described in items 1 – 3.
7. No substitutions/changes will be accepted; the prize is personal and non-transferable.
8. Exceptions will be analyzed by the IABr, who reserves the right to modify the rules above should it deem necessary.
University Students:
1. University students registered as “Visitor” for ExpoSteel, whether registered through the website or at the venue, who are effectively present at ExpoSteel on April 15, by 8:30am, will participate in the draw.
2. The draw will be held at 8:45am and the result will be announced at the event’s Secretary’s Office.
3. Winning participants should report to the Secretary’s Office to receive their Congress Participant badges which will grant admittance to the 21st Brazil Steel Congress. They will also receive Participants’ material and access to the restaurant for lunch on April 15.
4. The schedule of the Brazil Steel Meeting is available at www.acobrasil.org.br/congresso2010 .
5. Students who fail to pick up their Congress Participant credentials at the Secretary’s Office by 9:10am will be replaced by other university students, also selected by draw according to the conditions in item 6. No substitutions/changes will be accepted; the prize is personal and non-transferable.
7. Exceptions will be analyzed by the IABr, who reserves the right to modify the rules above should it deem necessary.
Professors:
1. All professors and/or course coordinators whose names are indicated by university students in their “Visitor” registration forms for ExpoSteel, through the website or at the venue, effectively picking up their ID badges at the event Secretary’s Office, will be participating in the promotion.
2. The indication of professors and/or course coordinators must be made when answering the question “How did you know about the event?” in the registration form. The student must include the name of the university and of the professor and/or course coordinator.
3. The results will be announced within 5 working days after the end of ExpoSteel, at the IABr offices, and winners will be notified within the following 5 working days.
4. Professors and/or course coordinators must also register at ExpoSteel and/or the Brazil Steel Meeting, and must pick up their ID badge at the event Secretary’s office.
5. Should the contact information provided by the winners be inaccurate and/or IABr is not able to contact same within three working days as from the draw, the Brazil Steel Institute will assign the prizes in the subsequent order of number of students, i.e.: in the absence of the 1st place, the 2nd place will become 1st, the 3rd will become 2nd, the 4th will become 3rd. The sequence will follow until all prizes are assigned.
